Exhalation Valve

The timing and characteristics of the exhalation valve in the MI-E device are essential for maintaining appropriate ventilation parameters, such as inspiratory/expiratory (I:E) ratio, tidal volume, and minute ventilation. These parameters are crucial for optimizing gas exchange and preventing complications in ventilated patients.

The exhalation valve, in conjunction with other ventilation settings and parameters, helps ensure that the patient receives an adequate supply of oxygen and that carbon dioxide is efficiently removed from their lungs.

Exhalation Valve can be replaced with a “Whisper Swivel Connector”.
